ASC Development Partnerships:
Multi-Specialty and Spine and Orthopedic
Develop, operate and own a surgery center
Physicians may seek to extend their practice and increase their revenue opportunities through the development of a multi-specialty or spine and orthopedic-driven ambulatory surgery center. These physicians can benefit from a business partner who has the industry experience, operational and clinical expertise, and access to capital needed to navigate the complex steps of planning, development and management.
Meridian specializes in ASC development and typically develops freestanding surgery centers with two to four fully-equipped operating rooms, one or two procedure rooms and ancillary areas for reception, pre-operative preparation, recovery and administration. Meridian’s surgical centers will generally be located in close proximity to physicians’ offices. Each center will be available for use only by licensed physicians who have been approved by the center’s medical credentialing committee.
Meridian has the capital resources and industry experience to partner with physicians to plan and develop all aspects of development. Meridian understands that the most crucial first step is planning. We collaborate closely with the physician partnership to define the scope which will ultimately dictate the facility size. Upon defining the scope of the project, Meridian guides the partnership through financing and real estate issues to the delivery of the facility. View our ASC Development Project Scope flow chart
Our proven project management process uses efficient and cost-effective measures to ensure development stays on timeline and within budget. Depending on the partnerships needs, Meridian will assume a minority or majority interest and manages the partnership long term.
Driven by the PEAK Management Approach, Meridian focuses on four cornerstones - Performance, Efficiency, Achievement and Knowledge - to successfully initiate and manage operations on a local level. Meridian works closely with the physician partnership to identify and capitalize on ways to grow the facility organically as well as through physician recruitment efforts and expansion.
Meridian takes the following into consideration when evaluating a new ASC development partnership:
